More infoYet more and more people are becoming disengaged with climate change and less action-focused. Among other causes, this is down to fatigue, fake news, denialism or negative perceptions of environmentalism and activism.
Extinction Rebellion (XR) is aiming to change all that. Founded in the UK in 2018 and now active in over 80 countries, this decentralised, global collective is redefining what activism looks like. Their radically inclusive approach welcomes everyone from seasoned activists to concerned neighbours, championing a “culture of care” to ensure the well-being of everyone involved.
In our exclusive interview, Spanish XR members shared:
- The movement’s origins and the principles that make it accessible to people of all backgrounds and abilities
- The unique blend of art, creativity and aesthetics that sets XR apart from traditional environmental movements
- How anger and love make a powerful cocktail to achieve meaningful, lasting change
