More infoThe MAIA project (which funds Alter) was set up specifically to deal with the challenges of accessing and working with reliable climate information. The name stands for ‘Maximising the Impact and Accessibility of Climate Change Research.’
The MAIA project is a collective of pan-European organisations, collaborating to unite dispersed climate researchers and information, so it reaches the people that need it most — in a format they can use.
MAIA connects people, platforms and knowledge to maximise the impact of climate change research. The aim is turn EU-funded climate research into actionable insights and commercially viable products and services that are accessible to businesses, policy makers, educators and citizens.
We do this through:
- Building and connecting ecosystems of communities, individuals, researchers, businesses and policymakers.
- Digital tools such as searchable databases and visualisations to find research groups, institutions, networks and other climate stakeholders and improve knowledge sharing.
- Business services connecting regions, businesses to climate researchers and solutions.
- Communication and dissemination activities and channels like events, webinars, websites, social media, scientific papers and more.
- Policy roundtables, policy-science dialogues and policy briefings to bring the latest insights to decision-makers.
Stay informed about climate change.
